Champion recognized as a Best Place to Work for ninth consecutive year

WESTERVILLE, OH – The Champion Companies celebrated its ninth straight year of recognition as one of Central Ohio’s Best Places to Work, by taking the No. 5 spot out of 10 honorees on November 12, 2024. Rankings were calculated from anonymous workplace satisfaction surveys.

Columbus Business First, which puts on the program each year, collaborates with Quantum Workplace to conduct the surveys, after which scores for each nominee are tallied to determine overall employee satisfaction. The honorees are placed and ranked within five categories based on company size. Champion was honored in the Large Company category.

“We are thrilled that we’ve continued to remain a Best Place to Work in Central Ohio,” said Kelli Berner, the company’s Chief Operating Officer. “To sustain this recognition for nine consecutive years shows that our intentional approach to engage our team members is fostering a healthy company culture.”

Champion’s “people-first” culture has developed and flourished over time through intentional programming that makes people feel valued and takes care of the whole person, not just who they are at work.

“This award means so much to us because it is voted on directly by our people,” Vice Chairwoman and President, Michelle Yeager-Thornton, said. “It is a testament to the amazing people who make up our organization and shows that amidst the changing business climate, our company continues to adapt and our culture is strong.”

Not only has Champion made the Best Places to Work list for nine years in a row, they’ve also placed in the Top 3 Large Companies for six out of those nine years, as well as landing three first-place finishes.

In addition to becoming a 2024 honoree, Champion participated in the Best Places to Work Spirit Competition where they created a video to display what makes Champion a best place to work. Click here to watch the company’s spirit video.
