Columbus Business First – Here are the 2020 Corporate Citizenship Awards honorees
For the third year in a row, The Champion Companies will be honored at the Columbus Business First Corporate Citizenship Awards. The award program, which was launched in 2018 to replace the Corporate Caring Awards, is meant to quantify and celebrate the giving done by the region’s companies and their employees.
Champion’s philanthropic initiative The Champion Cares Foundation, was able to give more than $300,000 to our charitable partners last year alone, and has donated more than $1.3m since inception. The company’s employees also give their valuable time, volunteering on average a total of 1,400 hours per year.
“No recognition is more important to us than what we receive for giving back to the community,” said Champion Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Michelle Yeager-Thornton about the award. “As long as we’re in business, we’ll mobilize our networks of residents, team members, and business partners to make a difference in the lives of others.”
