Champion buys 432-unit apartment complex on Polaris Parkway

A Champion affiliate has successfully purchased a 432-unit apartment complex in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Lake Club at Polaris is comprised of one and two bedroom garden apartments. The community is located on Polaris Parkway and is situated in the highly-acclaimed Olentangy School District. Lake Club is just minutes away from I-71, I-270 and Route 23, as well as all of the dining, entertainment and shopping the prestigious Polaris Fashion Place has to offer.

Champion plans to complete various capital improvement projects, including installing new siding, roofs and windows throughout the community, as well as repaving the roadways and building a brand new clubhouse. The interiors of the apartments will receive updates as well.

“Lake Club is going to receive a full renovation in 2015,” Brian Yeager, Champion’s president and CEO, said. “The community will be better positioned to compete with the higher-end apartments in the area, but remain an affordable housing option for our residents.”

“Lake Club is going to be the flagship apartment community for Champion,” Yeager added. “We are excited to show the market our value-add program.”

Champion’s portfolio is nearing 5,000 apartments. The Lake Club acquisition is the company’s second of 2015. Currently, Champion owns and manages apartment communities located in the growing cities of Columbus (Easton), Delaware, Dublin, Grove City, Hilliard, Lewis Center, New Albany, Powell and Westerville.
